Your contribution goes directly to the Vumilia programs that serve women and children who are deeply impoverished and impacted by HIV/AIDS. We invite you to help heal and care for these women and children of Western Kenya.
Community Program
Vumilia’s community program budget in 2008 was $42,000. This year, we are directly serving around 750 people, and HIV awareness work reached an estimated 2,500 people.
One-time gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated and will support the highest priority need. For example:
- $60 pays for 6 months of transportation to the hospital for 1 HIV patient to access life-saving drugs and care.
- $150 provides 2 months of transportation cost for HIV awareness and sex education workers to serve area communities
- $500 will stock Vumilia’s emergency food cupboard for 3 months, enabling staff to respond to urgent food needs of destitute AIDS patients
Girl’s Home
$50,000/year is needed to clothe, feed, care for and provide education for the twenty girls currently living at the Vumilia girls’ home
- $25 will buy a school uniform and school supplies for 1 girl.
- $150 secures a month’s worth of medicine and doctor’s fees for the girls in the home
- $500 will sponsor a bright young girl for one year of high school.
- Your gift of $1800 will sponsor one child for a year, including food, clothing, school fees and medical expenses
Capital Campaign – Help build a permanent home for Vumilia
$668,000 is needed to complete the vision for Vumilia as an independent home and school. They are completing a purchase of 6 acres of land and plan to expand the home with additional space for the Women’s programs, counseling and girls home. This new home and farm will accommodate more women & children and increase impact in the community. The vision to build an economically sustainable school, clinic, home and farm will only be accomplished through partners like you. Vumilia is seeking donations by individuals, trusts and from corporate sponsors who share our vision.
